5 Classes: - 10 am-noon Oct. 7th, The Following classes will be from 10 am-3 pm with a break for lunch: Oct. 14th, 28th, Nov. 11th, Dec. 2nd.
- Oct. 7th - Introduction. We will talk about choosing fabric, techniques that will be taught, and what you need to prepare for the next class. If you need help choosing fabrics we will be available to assist. A limited amount of kits similar to the quilt will be available.
- Oct. 14th - Part 1 - Le Moyne Star Blocks. We will learn how to do set-in seams and how to deal with all of the seams coming together in the center of the star.
- Oct. 28th - Parts 2 & 3. Feathered Star and Sawtooth border
- Nov. 11th - Parts 4 & 5. Fan blocks (paper piecing), Feathered Star Corners, and Dogtooth Border
- Dec. 2nd - Part 6. Pieced borders and continuous bias binding
Fabric Requirements:
- Assorted prints; 18 fat quarters (4 1/2 yards total - include at least 1 yellow and 1 purple fat quarter in using 1930's fabrics)
- Assorted blue prints; for feather triangles, sawtooth border, fan border and dogtooth border: 6 different 1/2 yard cuts.
- Assorted green prints: for Le Moyne Star Border - 5 different fat quarters
- Pink print: for border strips in central panel 3/8 yd
- Pink print: for quarter-circle patches in fan blocks 1/2 yd
- Green print: for outer border strips and bias binding 3 1/4 yd
- Background #1: 4 1/2 yards
- Background #2: 1 1/4 yards light smallish print
- Background: 3/4 yd if you want to add a 2 " floating border
Peggy used the same fabric for both background fabrics and also added a 2" floating border to enlarge the sample quilt slightly to allow for shrinkage. You may want to buy a little extra of each fabric for "OOPS".

- Sewing machine
- Feathered Star Ruler
- Precision Trimmer 3 ruler
- Small Cutting mat
- Rotary Cutter and Ruler of your choice
- Thread
- Pins
- Small scissors
- Frixion pen or marking pen of your choice
Before the intro class:
- You don't need to bring supplies to the introduction class.
- Bring this page (there are printed copies available at the Quilt Barn) and something to take notes on. We will discuss what you need to do for the next class.
